We are the chess section born within the SCDR Beraun Bera, in Errenteria. Today the club is Gaztelu Beltza Xake Kluba and we are still playing, teaching and organising tournaments in the same premises on Beraun street.

The club is founded
On 2 January 1992 the chess section of the SCDR Beraun Bera is born in Errenteria.
1997
Spanish Team Championship · Ponferrada
The club's first appearance in the Spanish Team Championship.
2006
Spanish Team Championship · Barcelona
The club's second appearance in the Spanish Championship.
2014
1st José Benito Memorial
A tribute to José Benito Pérez García, founding member and president of the SCDR Beraun Bera and driving force behind the chess section. It is played every April; 2026 saw the 12th edition.

1st Open Activo de Reyes
The start of the tournament that is now our fixture every January.
2026
1st Pasaia International Open
From 29 to 31 May, together with Pasaia Town Council: the club's first international open, FIDE-rated, with players from all over the Iberian Peninsula and the 1st Night Blitz.
Today
~50 licences, 5 teams and ~60 school-age players
Five teams in the Gipuzkoa leagues and a school that keeps on growing.

C/ Beraun 27, ground floor, inside the SCDR Beraun Bera, 5 minutes from Galtzaraborda "topo" (train) station.
