1. What are cookies?
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser to remember information from one page to another or from one visit to the next.
2. Cookies used on this website
On its own, this website only uses technical cookies, which it needs in order to work. We do not use statistics, advertising or tracking cookies. The only content from another website is the Google Maps map on the Contact page, which only loads if you accept it in the cookie notice or press «Show satellite view».
| Cookie | What it is for | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
pll_language | Remembering the language you choose (Spanish, Basque, English or French). | 1 year | Beraun Bera Xake (this website) |
wordpress_logged_in_…, wordpress_sec_…, wp-settings-… | Only for club members who log in to manage the website: they keep the session open and remember the admin panel preferences. | The session or up to 1 year | Beraun Bera Xake (this website) |
bbx_hist | Remembering the pages you visit in this tab so that the «Back» button takes you to the previous one in your language. It is stored in the browser; it is not a cookie. | Until you close the tab | Beraun Bera Xake (this website) |
bbx_cookies | Remembering whether you accept or reject the Google Maps map, so that we do not ask you again. | 1 year | Beraun Bera Xake (this website) |
| Google cookies (for example, NID) | Google installs them only if you accept the map or load it with the button, for its own purposes (preferences, security and, where applicable, advertising). | Set by Google (up to 6 months for NID) |
The School and membership forms do not use cookies: the details are sent to the club's email straight away and the website does not keep any copy.
3. Consent
Technical cookies do not require your consent (Art. 22.2 of Spain's Law 34/2002, LSSI-CE). The Google Maps map does: the first time you visit, a notice asks whether you accept it. If you accept, the map loads directly; if you reject it, you will see a button to load it only when you want. You can change your choice at any time with the «Cookie settings» link at the bottom of the website.
4. Links and content from other websites
The website contains links to WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Google Forms, Chess-Results and Google Maps. They are only links: those websites do not install cookies while you browse ours, but they may do so when you visit them. The map on the Contact page only loads if you accept it in the cookie notice or press «Show satellite view»; from then on, Google may install its own cookies and receive technical data about your connection, such as your IP address. Please check their own cookie policies.
5. How to delete or block cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, usually under «Privacy» or «Security». If you block the language cookie, the website will still work, but it may not remember the language you chose.
